5 Things You Must Know When Trying CBD

If you are trying CBD for the first time it's likely you have questions. Well lucky for you, we have answers - short, sweet and to the point.

1. How Much CBD Should You Take?

This is the most common question and likely the trickiest. This is because each person will need a different amount.

There are 2 things to remember when figuring out how much CBD you should take:

What's your tolerance level?

To discover how much CBD you need you'll need to do a little experimenting with the dosage.

Start slow with 10-15mg for the first few times to assess how your body responds. You can move up from there until you find the amount that gives you the desired effect.  

Once you figure out the amount needed to feel an effect you can move up or down from there to control the effect of the CBD.

What's your desired result?

If you're looking for a calming and relaxing effect you will need larger doses. If you're looking for enhanced clarity and focus - the smaller doses work best.

 2. What Does CBD Feel Like?

From a calming and relaxing effect to a mental clarity and enhanced focus. CBD can help you feel level headed and stress-free. You can experience less mental distractions and more balance.

For many, CBD isn't about what you feel but rather - what you don't feel.

You will no longer feel that heavy tension on shoulders and neck. 

You will no longer feel the aching discomfort on your back and joints.

You will no longer feel that social awkwardness or mental agitation during social situations.

You can expect to feel CONTROL over how you feel, how you react and how you interact with others.

3. What Does CBD Do?

CBD binds with receptors in the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) to help your body regulate important functions. These functions include sleep, pain, stress, immune response, metabolism, memory, learning, motor control and digestion.

The ECS has the important function of regulating the stress response in the body. When you are under stress, your stress response known as fight-or-flight triggers the production of cortisol. High levels of cortisol are responsible for:

  • Severe fatigue
  • Weight gain
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Irritability
  • Weak muscles
  • Headaches

Too much cortisol in the bloodstream leads to anxiety which leads to sleeping problems. The longer you go without managing stress, the more anxiety and sleeping problems you may develop.

CBD uses the endocannabinoid system to directly impact the amount of cortisol produced, effectively bringing your body back to balance.

4. Does CBD Get You High?

For CBD to be sold legally it must be from hemp and have no more than 0.3% THC. This means that the CBD you buy from Sensify will not get you high. All our products contain non-detectable amounts of THC or zero THC.

CBD can come from 2 plants: the hemp plant or the cannabis plant. 

The hemp plant has more CBD and less THC while the cannabis plant has more THC and less CBD. CBD does not have the psychoactive effects that THC does, meaning CBD doesn't give you a high.

When CBD is extracted from hemp, only trace amounts of THC may be present. This is full spectrum CBD. When the extract goes through one more extraction process to remove trace amounts of THC - you are left with broad spectrum CBD. The extract can go though another extraction process to remove the remaining compounds from the hemp plant. This is CBD isolate.

5. Can You Travel with CBD?

Flying: The TSA guidelines as of January 2020 make it legal to fly with CBD as long as the THC content is below 0.3%When you fly, print out the lab results and show TSA. They will confirm the CBD you're carrying meets the requirement.

Driving: The same applies when driving across state lines. Just have lab results ready to show just in case.
